No, our beds do not require a box spring. Our slat roll is designed to take the place of the traditional box spring. In fact, we recommend not using a box spring on our beds at all.

Would we be able to replace the trundle with drawers if needed?

Yes, you could replace this trundle with storage drawers if needed.

Can the drawers be installed on either side of the bed?

Yes, the storage drawers can be placed underneath either side of the bed.

Will your 5 inch or 8 inch mattress fit best with this bed?

Both the 5 and 8 inch mattresses are great options. We recommend the 5 inch for smaller children as they are learning to get in and out!

Will this fit a twin XL mattress?

No, this bed fits a standard twin mattress, not a twin XL.
