No, the desk is built-in and designed to be a stable part of the loft bed structure.

How much space is available under the loft bed?

The space underneath the loft bed is spacious enough to fit a small desk, bookshelves, and other accessories, maximizing the room's functionality.

Can I put the ladder on either side of the bed, or is it only set up to be placed on one side?

Sorry, the ladder can only be placed on the left side of the bed, as shown in the image.

Can I put a 12 inch twin mattress on the bed?

You cannot use a 12-inch mattress with this bed, as it would leave very little functional guard rail space. Both our 5-inch and 6-inch twin mattresses would be a great fit for this bed.

What is the age recommendation for this bed? Would it be safe for a 4 year old?

Generally, we recommend raised beds like bunks and lofts for children 6 years and up - but you know your child best!
For younger children, we recommend the staircase entry for raised beds, as this is the safest and easiest way to access a raised bed like a Bunk or Loft.
