Can the ladder be on either side?

Yes, you can move the ladder to either side.

Will the twin XL mattress fit this bed?

The twin XL is 4" longer than a standard twin. The Twin-Size High Loft Bed with Wraparound Desk & Shelves uses a standard twin mattress.

We recommend a 5" mattress not to exceed 8".

Would this bed work for a teenager (5’1” 100lbs)?

Absolutely! Our beds are made of sturdy, solid pine wood and boast a weight capacity of 300 pounds, so this bed could support a 100-pound teenager.

Can I put a 12 inch twin mattress on the bed?

You cannot use a 12-inch mattress with this bed, as it would leave very little functional guard rail space. Both our 5-inch and 8-inch twin mattresses would be a great fit for this bed.

How high are the guardrails?

The guardrails are 13.45 inches high.
